Uncooked bacon only stays good so long in the fridge. Now, this isn’t usually a problem for true bacon lovers as we consume bacon by the pack.
However, with a little forethought, by freezing your bacon you can actually have an arsenal of ready-to-thaw and eat. Plus, it’s easier to cut into bits for salads or potatoes.
Here’s what you do. Start by freezing uncooked bacon, placing separated slices flat on foil, each slice side by side, leaving a little room at the top, bottom and sides of the foil. Put another piece of foil on this layer of bacon, and begin another layer of bacon to freeze – basically stacks on stacks of bacon.
Put one last piece of foil at the top, fold it over the edges, and boom. You’ve got a compact stack of bacon to keep preserved and ready to cook at any time.
