Bacon on the Moon

What do they eat for breakfast in outer space? According to this source [link to], the first meal ever eaten on the moon (by HUMAN visitors, that is) included bacon!

Space bacon comes in cubes or squares rather than strips, but it has nonetheless become a favorite meal of astronauts — proving that bacon is tasty no matter how you cook it.

The astronauts of Apollo 11 paired their bacon cubes with peaches, sugar cookie cubes, grapefruit drink, and coffee. That might sound like a strange combination, but when you’re eating bacon in space, anything goes.

So what’s the next stop for bacon? We don’t know for sure, but we’re glad to know it’s venturing into the final frontier…
